~ 11:43 PM ~
Hello hello. Sorry for the disappearance, i'm back and it's christmas. Merry Christmas!
Let's see..
Sports trip was really fun and an eyeopener, besides the slightly cliquish part. I shall say the memorable things that i want to maintain as memories (regardless of good or bad), when 10 years down the road, i look back on my first sports trip ever with the team.
Of course, the most important part of the trip were the friendly matches that we took the long bus rides for. They were also part of the reason for the trip, to expose us to other players, besides the bonding of the team. And because our bus driver got lost looking for the badminton hall on the first day of the trip, we were stuck on the bus for a freakingly long time. What we din't know was, it wasnt' worth our effort in the least. What awaited us at the sports hall was a egoist man, all full of himself and his club, not bad players at least, and a lousy demand of shuttlecocks from us. Saying accomodating us was by providing courts and players, we were supposed to provide all sources of shuttles. And of course, since we brought limited from homeland, we were required to purchase from him. Oh well, of course picking up an arguement wasnt our nature as guest, it was the most we could do.
When people say like father like son, we could say like teacher like student?
Some snobbish players he has got, walking off the court without the slightest acknowledgement of appreciation and thanks after a game, right after the shuttle lands.
Looking on the brighter side, we had better opponents for the next two friendly matches on the second and third day respectively. Especially so when we met the supposingly state and street players on the third day. We were really warmly received as the players were lined up and we did shake hands with each and every player, and of course taking photographs. They really treated us as valuable opponents and maybe even a tinge of fear? For we were actually in red and white jerseys, Singapore colours maybe? haha. The joke of the trip was that we were actually going to represent Singapore as Team Siglap. (Since M'sia was big and had states that the players could represent.) And the second friendly was with some random players, but they were quite nice yet dao too. Oh well. At least we took a picture. Unlike the egoist people who just packed bags and left without a goodbye even.
Of course, the next most interesting thing was paintball. For those who are clueless about what it is, it's just a sadistic game where you hold a gun and shoot people (literally), obviously your opponents. And these tiny balls filled with paint come flying out at say 500km per hr maybe? And you try to avoid any balls at all cost, because when you get whacked, the "bullets" burst and you get a patch of paint on your shirt, coming with it is a huge blue-black that stays with you for days. In the end, everyone returned with bruises, except wanyun and me, though we were kind of glad yet disappointed at the same time. We missed out on the opportunity to experience getting hit, (it's that sadistic) since the thrill was getting hit in the process of the game besides leading the team to victory by tagging the other team's flag on the other side of the playing ground.
Last but not least was the fun and thrill we experienced as a team at the outdoor theme park in Genting. It was fun to be there as a team, the whole team filling up the roller coaster, and sadly not the Viking ship, since for some reason the team were splited at first. It was while queueing for Spaceshot that the girls called the guys to join us.
I wouldn't deny my fear for the rides, but it was the peer pressure and of course moral support from the others that boost my confidence to overcome the fears. From the start, I secretly swore to myself that i wouldn't get on Spaceshot aka Freefall regardless of all. I told yy i would queue with them, and watch them get on the ride. And when our friendly tourguide aka ms lim came along and said she was going for Go-Kart with bel, i had a strong desire to tag along. And it was yy who refused to let me out of the queue -.- So that's how peer pressure started. And as we got nearer and nearer to the front of the queue, (time passed really quickly when you just hoped it slows down really.. the rest could really entertain themselves by playing Bridge standing) yy and i were silent, secretly praying to our holy god to save us from the tramatising experience that we were going to bring ourselves upon. She had the experience of chickening out after she queued for a damn long time at korea theme park for a similar ride, hence i cant imagine her putting me through this torturous wait. Nevertheless, when we were just a dozen or so people away from the front of the queue, yy really got scared. It's really funny when you hear people scream, i wouldnt believe i was comforting her instead of the reverse. (She was the one insisting i take the ride -_-) We did think of how cold we would be up at the top, since it was a foggy day and it just happened to rain when we were there.
Our friendly tour guide aka we-know-who was evil enough to show off her steamy cup noodles while we were stuck in the queue for Corkscrew (the roller coaster that had overturns) and some shivering even. Hah. On the whole it was a worth while experience, at least i did overcome some obstacles that i couldnt imagine myself to.
The last night in the hotel room was the most memorable of all, since everyone gathered in ms lim's room and played together. After 2am when ms lim decided that we should sleep, some of us changed location and gathered in mayyee's room instead. Believe it or not, adrian kelvin mayyee and yy entertained themselves with some lame fortune telling game till what? 5am?! Just because spastic adrian kept going "again again". Gosh. Till they finally decided to head back to their room.
And also, the cable car ride back and forth from genting was fun. The view was splendid. =D
All in all, we had fun though there wasn't much shopping time, and i had a great sleeping companion who wasn't afraid of ghost? LOL. The rest got freaked out after hearing some ghost stories on the bus ride back to the hotel at night. And we could self entertain by simply having a mini kbox session in our room. heh.
Oh and how could i forget, we visited a chocolate factory or whatever it was called. Basically it just sold alot of chocolates.
And right after we returned back to Singapore after another long day of bus rides, i couldn't believ myself, but i did bring myself to ABt chalet after depositing the luggage at home. I wonder how i convinced myself to go without sleep for another two whole days. Nevertheless, i really enjoyed myself with my team'06 as usual, nothing beats them all. Simply looking at yongyuan keeps you awake cause you cant stop laughing at his spasticity. And then there's weeyang who talks endlessly, wilson who was dead tired after rolling his boat hence collapsing on the mac's table, yongkiat's activeness and spiky's random comments.. though we had some unforeseen disputes at the chalet, everything did turn out well eventually..
More people came on the second day, that includes JOAN (rare guest), meigui, melissa and ningxin. hence everyone decided they should pose with joan for a photograph. How honourable, i took at least 2 with her =D LOL.
Oh yes. And we went arcade and played bball and ddr. (we tried to play datona but there just had to be a power failure when i was in 2nd position. i swear i could hav caught up with weeyang just less than an inch infront. haha) And did i mention we played arcade at Genting too. Ok not we, they did. At least ms lim challenged adrian to basket ball and he was really proud of his score- 133 LOL.
Ok i shall end now. Other events shall be post next time. 2.24am. time for bed. =D
