happy birthday beloved~! :D

On the way home today, i learnt something new. It occurred to me how it's truely hard to tell a book by it's cover. Some people just put on a facade when they socialise. I wonder why. It's terribly sad to know how some friendships are based on making use of each other.

I shall place more value on all the jie meis from now, hopefully after leaving vj i'll look back and feel a sense of attachment just like from anderson.

Cultivating sociability has the negative effect of people having only shallow relationships. Maybe that's how people may put on a facade when socialising. "We have so many friends that we have no time to personally know them. to go to a deeper level. There is simply no time to cultivate a true friendship because there are so many people demanding one's time and attention. No doubt it means that one is popular and that people want to spend time with one, but what is the purpose? Is it company? True friends are those who are comfortable in silence."

I truely agree with the above. Over socialising may lead to one becoming totally self-absorbed, overlooking what they would have seen in solitude. More often than not, we try very hard to keep up with conversation. Maybe that's how the idea of 7mins of awkward silence came about. Even a moment of silence, we canoot tolerate. Would you consider that as true friends?

Solitude allows us to be free from obligations and demand. Appreciation of solitude does not mean one becomes a loner. Often, people are so caught up with sociability and getting to know the right people, they lose their identity in the process.

I'm so sorry for the GP-like entry. Moving on..

First day of school after official lessons starts tend to be slacker than usual, since we students like to "learn more" about our teachers' wonderful holiday, in an attempt to avoid having to start on tutorials. Mrs Koh kept up to her name of being efficient in marking scripts, while the rest of the subject teachers took their time.

School was fine. Let's talk about the other post exam activities..

Last friday there wasn't tests for us so it's holiday~ Sam and zy came over to play mahjong with my bro who was back from camp. Now he's off to Brunei for training =/ So the house's gonna be pretty empty for a while. After that we went off to meet amanda for k-session at teo heng. And met lots of victorians, like seriously everyone who signed out at 7 were mostly victorians. So it's hot spot besides being cheap. LOL. Coincidently met ting kai and xijing with their friends respectively.

And got to thank yanjie for his party on saturday. Food was fabulous, friends and relatives were friendly and most importantly most of the class turned up. x)

s56 at yanjie's house..

wonderful jie meis x)

it was a special day.

Right.. Common test 2 is over.. Was feeling liberated after exams like any other time, but post exam activity was just weird. Don't feel like commenting on it, but i think i shall remain more open minded about things.

Come to think of it, i don't feel happy after exams either. I don't wanna start having to fret over T3A. Admist uncompleted tasks and assignments. And not to forget all the upcoming and past birthday presents waiting for preparation. Gosh. Why am i getting stressed over such stuff..

CT2 was.. *gulps* I think i really did put in tons of effort to feel prepared during the holidays. Mugging almost every single day unless something cropped up. I just hope it will show in results, though the probability is.. close to.. self-defined. the standard of papers are undeniably hard, even geniuses agree to some. Let's just pray. I hope changing studying method for econs would help in the grades. This whole week is just --- shagged.

winston's idea of CT is interesting.
GP - Go Pray
Maths - Mad (statistics = sadistic)
eCONs - Kena conned/pawned
Physics - *hm*
Computing - Press any key to continue. . .

As for me, i think i really felt tired with the 3 afternoon papers, which proved to be a challenge to change our sleeping habits. Half way through maths i felt like my neck was breaking, after stunning papers of physics and econs the previous days, we were all close to breaking apart. xiangli agree right. -.-

Chemistry today was the biggest challenge. I was confident of revision, but facing the paper was a totally different situation. Mind blank, or maybe froze in the LT and the freaking irritating light that kept flickering kept us distracted. MCQ was as usual hard to a ludicrous extent. 30 questions in 45 minutes with more than half the questions needing analysis and calculations. They must be driving us to improving our guessing strategies, in order to score in MCQ. Time provided is so ridiculously short that people snicker and giggle when the invigilator announces the last 5 mins left. It's probably the fact that most have gotten less than 2/3 of the paper completed. That explains the sarcasm in the snickering. I wonder what those people are thinking of making us into. A guessing machine?

Such a pity it din't go as planned.. All that thorough thoughts for naught.

I'm amazed by the way some people can blog everyday, sometimes even about nothing. That's seriously the highest peak of blogging already.. no meigui i'm not referring to you. LOL. But today, i decide to give myself a break from mugging at midnight, and blog about the past days events..

By the way, i've a new best friend called baked rice. But so far at least 3 members of the public have expressed jealousy and asked me "what about me?". =/ Looks like i din't make my stand clear. baked rice is my new love, you guys are of different level of comparison ok. LOL :D

Ok back to friday.. First time the whole jun hols, i decided to mug out for a day at tampines library. It was quite a nice experience because i reached super early to book a table and i realised the studying corner with quite alot of tables (actually a reference corner for readers) was full by 10.15 when it's open at 10. 0.o wow. the mugging spirit sure is high. and then sotong (she knoes who she is) was late because sotong is jus sotong, i shall not say why. heh. So some random person came and sat at our table with us. Ok i shall cut short and skip to the climax. After lunch with my dear baked rice, we went back to mug.

And then............. this young guy in sports wear (looks decent apparently, not wearing spects some more.) came and sat at the table next to us (with another girl who was already studying there)and was wheezing very hard. (which means making alot of noise.) So he successfully attracted alot of attention from the poor muggers around him, and then, he started talking to the girl beside him. eg. "hey can i see your periodic table.." (the girl was doing chemistry) So i thought they were friends for a moment. Then he started talking to himself or maybe to his book. eg. "wow this place is cold.." Everyone was already staring at him for wheezing so hard, then maybe due to his lack of vocabulary he started scolding "fcuk" for god knows what reason, like who the heck offended him. And ever since i never heard any thing else from his mouth except that word. Like wth, totally polluted my mind and impeded information from inflitration! Like why on earth did he choose to irritate people at the library who are obviously trying to study man. He could have done it at the park or wherever, to disturb free-er people instead -.-

Ah enough of him. I shall move on to cdac june camp today..

Camp was really.. fun. Though some of us left early due to various reasons.. it was quite awkward at first when nobody knew each other and the campsite was.. woah. a big mess with no order, maybe due to the new, unexperienced camp commander. But FRANCE is a really nice group with nice people (i mean the volunteers) though there are a few problematic kids. But there's also this pair of brothers in the group, brandon and bryan, and they're pretty cute. LOL. It's really rare to have vj people at cdac, yet there was one in my group 0.o Yishun SHG was in-charge of ice breakers, but i obviously din't need to contribute much since Jinhan (one of the jurong volunteers) was doing almost everything from the start. LOL. Jurong voluteers are just naturally talented or maybe trained at handling such events since they're so activity-oriented. The next point on why camp was enjoyable was coz it was the time i got to know more yishun volunteers better..

camp was at MOE dairy farm, which brings back memories of sec 3 camp. The awkwardness of meeting new people, the feeling of being the campers instead of instructors.. haha. totally sian feeling of being in the kids shoes i understand. But being voluteers is different, coz we're the cool ones that have no restrictions. heh. And saw lots of ex andersonians, like vincent, qing liang, etc. But dunno whether they don't recognise me, or we just dint bother to acknowledge each other. LOL.

Lunch was not exactly fantastic.. ok at least there's a drumstick for each camper and volunteer.. but it's not the most tasty chicken on earth.

Then there was the station games, of which the volunteers jus facilitated unless there was a necessity for us to "make numbers". I realised kids are really pretty sensitive about boy and girl (as in gender). Like weiquan and lupin din't wanna partner for the three-legged race so the volunteers had to pair up with each of them.. And then to cross the spider web girls carried girls and so on..

Most of the station games particularly promoted teamwork, but that's what i find lacking in FRANCE. There's this girl (i shall not name who to protect identity) who attracted my attention ever since the start of the camp, coz she was particularly outspoken (yeah you know what i mean), attention seeking kind of person.. Well, if she wasn't a kid i would categorise as being bitchy. And it's good to have a "leader" who volunteers first for everything, but not when she starts screaming at her teammates for being slow. Oh well. winning points is like everything to the kids.

Because we left early, we missed night walk and tomorrow morning's Amazing race. From the activities info sheet, amazing race really looks fun. Kind of sad to miss it. It's like various stations and the kids have to complete the tasks there. eg. 1. The team will be expected to learn a set of simple dancesteps to the rhythm provided by the station master.

2. Team members will stand in a row. While the rest of the team backfaces the station master, the first person will turn around to look around at the message that he is supposed to pass down the row. The student will only be allowed to use actions to convey his message. The last person in the row has to guess the message. Upon completion of 3 successful messages conveyed, the station master will pass the team their next clue.

Of coz there are more stations in the list.. and becoz the things the kids are gonna do is so interesting.. it's sad missing the race =( But the only thing i wouldn't miss is the night duty (patrolling) at 3am 0.o of all timings. ah. hope lj blogs in detail about the camp. (this is a very subtle hint*) haha. ok i shall end here for now.

Oh on the random note, i feel out of touch with Aviva without being there to watch with the rest of the team who went.

Alright.. for the benefit of those who like to stalk me (and ask what i'm/'ve been doing) , i shall blog about the first week of hols.

On 23rd may was first time kboxing with yy (coz we wanted to go ever since we met) and much of the girls' team. (only may jordana and bel were absent). haha. it was fun la. but really weird to be singing english songs like most of the time.. since i nev sang english songs at kbox. (but b'coz the girls were so potato, we just sang english songs. ) Only when they went out to grab food, then yy and i squeezed in half of two chinese songs. LOL! sounds so desperate. ahh. i wanna sing chinese songs! (deprived kid) who wanna go pls book me. (: (found new lobang for cheap k-sessions. haha.) And towards the last 5 mins before the system shuts down by itself, adrian and ben popped by and got the whole room high with "hey mickey!" LOL! And it's only for 5 mins that we were all high -.- ah well.....

Alright now for the most recent event.. Aristal (nj dance concert) was on 30 may.. It was my first time ever at a real concert hall -_- (thats really sad.) I hope my classmates in performing arts wouldn't kill me (for not supporting their concerts), but hey, i accept a treat any time =D haha kidding.. Though i remember mr wong wanted to subsidise his band concert tickets for our class.. (ok thats not the point. back to aristal.. )

It was a really interesting evening as well, getting to watch xj perform (LIVE) on stage and hearing lots of amusing stories from our wonderful companion lj. I was pretty entertained the whole evening, but that horrible creature actually dozed off during one of the dances! But it's ok, i kind of agree that some dances were not to my appreciation level.. But there are other dances that were amazing!

Western dance was really cool. All the nice music, plot and energized dancers really made the crowd go wild. I wanna convert to a western dancer ^^! hahaaa.. (if i can make it.) Ok for the benefit of xj, i shall compliment chinese dance too. I had a good time trying to spot xj in the sea of dancers.. and it wasn't that hard actually.. coz she had a really distinctive look, plus there's always lj to spot her for me. LOL! sensitive radar or in-built binoculars that he has. By the way we were on circle 3, i bet meigui must have been on the ground level to get those level-eyed photos. But it wasn't that bad seats la.. At least i wasn't blocked by some intimate couple with heads locked and blocking poor lj. ahaha. Anyway back to point, the opening dance by chinese dance was pretty good.. It was the next most enjoyable dance after the western dance with the bgr plot. hahaa.. nice.

Met some old friends there, and socialised a little before heading home.. Concerts are cool, and got to choose the right companion(s). hahaha. jus kidding..

And besides muggin and some fun occasionally, it has been trips to cdac. yeah that's practically all. Hope ABT meets up during this hol. (: It has been forever since we met.

Pictures of season 2008.

Coaster from pris.. It says " Jaslyn! Like a roller COASTER, we'll have our ups and downs times. When we're on form there's when we're not. But rest assure we'll surely enjoy this roller COASTER ride after it has ended. So jia you for the next 8 matches! FInALS, here we come! (: Love pris. "

Yeah indeed we're enjoyed the emotional turmoil -.- Though we din't reach our aim of topppppppp...... 2 (team secret) , it was a nice ride nevertheless (:

before semis on the bus. all hyped up and excited to demolish the china opposing team..

One of the first few matches when we were still playin at tampines sports hall... yy me and the Ips..

Going for 2nd round with the guys.. on the bus.. Aaron sure is resting well for the match.. haa.

Going for 3rd, 4th placing.. that's pris on court.

And that's jingying and 'manda..

VJC A'girls 08! At toa payoh sports hall catching finals between rjc and jjc.

prize presentation! That's us red ties. In fact only my tie is visible. -.-

After prize presentation, cam-whoring.

A girls with pretty flowers from juniors!

That's me and jolene.. The year 1 who made my card. haha. Thanks for being ever so supportive!

Team celebrating at swensons after prize presentation, but bel was tired. haha. too much partying?

If there's one thing i must comment, it will be the jj "cheering squad" aka supporters..

That's the crowd at semi finals from jj's side.. From my previous post, i think i did mention that they had to come in through 2 doors.. They are actually really loud and enthusiastic.. Not to mention organised.. (hey thats a compliment!).. And they went on to prove our theory right at finals!

That's all their supporters (not many compared to rj) at finals.. but wow they are LOUD. They sure showed their presence to the audience..

And hey their enthusiasm sure last long.. They can't stop cheering even after everything has ended! As we can see the supporter benches are all cleared x) And people busy cam whoring. heh. Let's give 'em some credit for cheering so hard for every single sch!

p.s. our guys are really camera shy- that explains the lack of their faces..

Hi everyone. I should say you must be scrutinizing every part of my blog to be reading this arent you? Well, if you're that bored or interested in me, this is me you're looking at. Just a typical mundane human being living in this distorted world filled with what we call friends and foes. It's just me to get all maudlin and touchy about friendships and covalent bonds that i painstakingly built, and it's most dreading to realise what you call friends are actually fair-weathered ones and ditch you for others. You know.. that sort of ambivalent feelings which arises with such friendships. From young, my pedagogues have complained of me being temperamental and from there i have learnt and seen the world beyond me, where there happened to be people fairing far worst than i do. I realised in this period of isolation that life turns out to be happier for everyone if people knew how to be sate with life. It's just in the genes that human beings have to take things for granted and learn to appreciate things only when they have lost it. Sad isn't it?. I admit possessing that characteristic, which led me to losing what i should have treasured most, with great regrets. Now, like Krishna, we are inclined to seeking comfort from things that we are familiar with, unaccustomed to changes. It may not appear to be me on the outside, braving the winds of the outside world, strong and unbeatable. Like the saying goes, never judge the book by its cover, and i believe in that, in the way i credit people. We all treasure private space don't we?.. It's just human nature. And of course it most dreading to feel deserted by your friends isn't it.. ? To feel cheated and betrayed.. Well, live a sate life readers!
