I was working really hard at the library today, absorbed in chemistry, and i was surprised when i looked up from the smelly notes (work stinks.) and saw the girl seating beside me with my name written on her notes. Hell no! For a moment i thought it was my notes, and what were they doing on her table? So i looked closer, only to realise that that beautiful handwriting wasn't even mine. I entertained the thought of telling her :" Hey that's my name!" but before i could do it, she packed her books and left. I'm sorry, it must be me. Too friendly.

What's the probability of some stranger having the same name sitting next to you studying chemistry in the same library out of 4 billion people in the world? It's not even close to having a name like "XiaoMing" who is renowned for being the protagonist that pervades the whole fantasy world of chinese compositions. Yes, the more flowery your language, the more fun Xiao Ming has.

I feel like a refugee these days, every single day trying to scout a conducive environment. All that heated argument with momma is driving me nuts, adding on to the noise pollution coming from that drilling downstairs and the piling load of work to complete. I've a good mind to complain to town council. Now, I think i need a chill pill.

Disclaimer: This post is not meant to point fingers at anyone.

Who ever said it was tough life studying in neighbourhood schools? All the disturbing arguments of whom being despised and whom being shun, could possibly be as frustrating as being the target of complaints.

"We received a complaint from a passenger on bus 55. None of the victorians on board gave up their seats for her and her three kids tagging along when the bus was crowded." Mr Seet announced to the college during assembly. There must be a misconception somewhere. Note that the bus was crowded. Unless that particular passenger had nothing better to do as to lodge a complain to every possible school, i don't see why victorians are getting the blame. Whatever happened to VS, St patricks, Katong Convent and the many other schools that lay along Marine Vista Road?

Yes yes, you may argue that vj is one of the top 5 colleges with good reputation yadayada high expectations, and highest in seniority if you have to mention, but victorians are humans too. We hardworking students need to catch forty winks when time permits, it'd be beneficial to the society in the long run if that's a good enough reason for a seat. Haven't these people heard of the first come first serve theory? No, don't make me seem like i'm some petty old lady refusing to give up my seat. It probably din't occur when i was on the bus, i'd try to avoid the crowd anyway, just expressing a tinge of indignation for those accused.

It must be terrible to be on a crowded bus, much worst at peak hours. With your whole body squashed against another like sardines in a tin, it doesn't make matters any better with inconsiderate students (aunties and uncles like to target students and pressure them to give up their seats by sending brain waves, as they would think we kids are strong and healthy enough to stand an hour worth of journey!) trying very hard to look asleep and oblivious to the other commuters or simply avoiding eye contact. I'd most gladly give up my seat to an old lady or a pregnant one (provided no body else does. haha.) but maybe not to a woman with three kids who are probably as healthy as i am. (and you know kids just can't sit still so why waste the seat?) And it isn't exactly our fault that she choose to lead her kids up a crowded bus. A nice and empty double decker bus could possibly be just right behind if she was willing to wait. According to Quantum mechanics you never know until you try.

It just pays off to choose a school of strategic location.

I was surprised we din't hear of another complaint. The disapproving and perturb look on the face of the auntie selecting oranges at Cold Storage looked like she was yet another potential "complainer". I could imagine her thinking "What on earth are victorians doing, tossing egg tofus into the air?!" It sucks even more when your catching skills are only enough to fill half a bucket. Maybe she mistook us for xxx JC. And to her they do these things all the time. But thankfully what i expected din't arrive.

CT: Jaslyn, so no more distractions now right?
Me: Er.. Olympics?

Seriously there's all that craze about Olympics now and it's terribly distracting. Michael Phelps, leviathan chasing ten gold medals and his mad swim in 100m butterfly winning just by a fingernail of 0.01 secs. Usian Bolt smashing world record in men's 100m, first time in the history of human beings a man has run the distance under 9.7 seconds without a significant tailwind.
It's the IN thing at the moment, it's hard not to talk about it as it pervades the TV, headlines, mobTV, school and not to mention friends.

Adding on to the Olympic frenzy, vj's plasma screen has been converted to live screening of the Olympic games. Avid fans of Michael Phelps would request their teachers to let them off class early so they can catch his spectacular display of prowess at 10.21am, exact timing clearly recorded for each and every of his swim. That's the extent of Craze.

I was walking towards the canteen on friday afternoon in search of yy and alison who were catching the table tennis match between Singapore and South Korea. Nearing the canteen, i heard cries of excitment. "What on earth is happening?" I wasn't expecting that many people to be at the canteen at 4pm in the afternoon. The excitement sure caught on fast, because people from behind me started to run towards the canteen. Not wanting to look like some typical singaporean, i din't join in the run. That's why upon reaching the canteen, i came a wee second too late, only to hear that Li Jia Wei lost to the Korean.

The althletes train so hard just for that moment of glory when they win. Or maybe it's for the 1 million tied to each gold medal. Imagine Michael Phelps with 10 gold medals, or you could say 10 million, how many days would it take for us to earn that when he does it in 10 days, make that 10 events, no how about rounding off to an hour? Let's just say you're lucky to be born either talented or filthy rich.

Tomorrow's the match of Singapore women's table tennis against hot favourites China in the finals. Our first medal in 48 years, no wonder we get excited when we're deprived. Looks like it's Singapore vs China again. Relive the feeling of deja vu from 3 months ago. Let's just wish Team Singapore all the best for being the underdogs.

One fine day, the trio went to TCC for their daily mugging session. TCC was wonderful place to mug, because their chairs were so soft and comfortable, but we couldn't say the same for the price of the goods sold. =/

The trio weren't that thirsty, but they decided that they should purchase something instead of hogging free space.. so they bought this ..

nice looking drink called nutello...

It seemed quite appealing from the menu, large and tasty enough to satisfy all three of us.

The tall cup was the other drink that we bought, some chocolate mint. While the three small cups were chilled water provided by TCC..

When the drinks arrived, we were definately amused..

Because Nutello looked so small beside the chilled water which were provided free..

And this is a outdated picture of volunteer's night..

And ABT gathering..

The guys trying to be weird..

All of us being normal..

And the belated birthday babies..

It has been forever since i'd hair that could be classified as short. Like weeho said "What had hit me?" I shall say lets try something new, maybe lesser weight pressing down on my head, more information can infiltrate, diffuse whatever at a faster rate. :D

I know i shouldn't be saying this but i'm missing you like crazy. nobody's gonna read this so it's just private ranting space.

Hi everyone. I should say you must be scrutinizing every part of my blog to be reading this arent you? Well, if you're that bored or interested in me, this is me you're looking at. Just a typical mundane human being living in this distorted world filled with what we call friends and foes. It's just me to get all maudlin and touchy about friendships and covalent bonds that i painstakingly built, and it's most dreading to realise what you call friends are actually fair-weathered ones and ditch you for others. You know.. that sort of ambivalent feelings which arises with such friendships. From young, my pedagogues have complained of me being temperamental and from there i have learnt and seen the world beyond me, where there happened to be people fairing far worst than i do. I realised in this period of isolation that life turns out to be happier for everyone if people knew how to be sate with life. It's just in the genes that human beings have to take things for granted and learn to appreciate things only when they have lost it. Sad isn't it?. I admit possessing that characteristic, which led me to losing what i should have treasured most, with great regrets. Now, like Krishna, we are inclined to seeking comfort from things that we are familiar with, unaccustomed to changes. It may not appear to be me on the outside, braving the winds of the outside world, strong and unbeatable. Like the saying goes, never judge the book by its cover, and i believe in that, in the way i credit people. We all treasure private space don't we?.. It's just human nature. And of course it most dreading to feel deserted by your friends isn't it.. ? To feel cheated and betrayed.. Well, live a sate life readers!
