The final countdown - 30 June 2006. This is a bunch of monkeys. Look.. that's us.
We reformed, under the mystical hands of the mathematical aficionado. He deplored our way of handling maths, chided us and here we are, gathered as a class to show our appreciation. A pedagogue like any others, what makes him any different from the rest?
We set our benighted feet into the world of complicated maths, with unduly patience and concern from the wise man, we found the passion for maths. It was nothing like before, not the drive for languages nor sciences. How often do teachers provide not just knowledge but passion?
He tries hard and all means well. Hard enough for us to respect him and render him the silence in all lessons. It has been one and a half years, yet not a noise is made through out all his lessons, it was only solo performance. This is rare from 4/7, as it does not occur in any other lesson.
The most memorable times boils down to the efforts he had put into the badminton team, giving all the guidance and admendments that he could afford, coming down to watch us incessantly. It is heart-rending now that he is leaving, depriving us - his students, of a privilege that is once in a lifetime. Having been guided by him in both maths and badminton skill wise, i would say he is so knowledgable that maths periods sometimes converts to moral education, physics, biology or chemistry periods. Tranquility in him potrays such a confident self, which enables us students to trust him wholeheartedly.
Presenting.. Mr. Tan TP.... Looking full of vitality , yet probably languidness from too much photo taking. He must have had taken hundreds of photos.. Just from us its at least 50 odd shots? .. Becoming backdrop by accident.. lols..
We have grown, strength to strength, under the rejuvenation and upbring of Mr Tan. (of course there were other teachers as well.) Ironically the picture displays Arkar's childishness. lol. As a matter of fact, speaking in generalisation. Probably its the girls that have grown, look at the guys -.-
It was a total of two hundred and forty that the class forked out. Quoting Ek theng " Thats 10 dollars a month !" lols. Indeed it is a lot that we have spent, resulting in a depletion of funds. When at last we called for a farewell lunch with him, we had realised he was gone. Gone out for lunch at Toa Payoh with some other friends whom Mrs Chong and Mrs A. Lim had named, even after several reminders on the day and days before. -.- Aww.. "were we forgotten?" Bewilderment was drawn on the faces of those present, almost the whole class was crowded in the canteen looking like a bunch of lost sheep.
He did turn up eventually though.. With assistance from Mr. Tan Fk who claimed to charge me 10cents for every call i made to him in the desperation of getting Mr. Tan TP on the line. We bottoms up to Mr Tan and to our success ahead, for this we shall not disappoint him.
Hi everyone. I should say you must be scrutinizing every part of my blog to be reading this arent you?
Well, if you're that bored or interested in me, this is me you're looking at.
Just a typical mundane human being living in this distorted world filled with what we call friends and foes.
It's just me to get all maudlin and touchy about friendships and covalent bonds that i painstakingly built,
and it's most dreading to realise what you call friends are actually fair-weathered ones and ditch you for others.
You know.. that sort of ambivalent feelings which arises with such friendships.
From young, my pedagogues have complained of me being temperamental and from there i have learnt and seen the world beyond me, where there happened to be people fairing far worst than i do.
I realised in this period of isolation that life turns out to be happier for everyone if people knew how to be sate with life.
It's just in the genes that human beings have to take things for granted and learn to appreciate things only when they have lost it. Sad isn't it?.
I admit possessing that characteristic, which led me to losing what i should have treasured most, with great regrets.
Now, like Krishna, we are inclined to seeking comfort from things that we are familiar with, unaccustomed to changes.
It may not appear to be me on the outside, braving the winds of the outside world, strong and unbeatable.
Like the saying goes, never judge the book by its cover, and i believe in that, in the way i credit people.
We all treasure private space don't we?.. It's just human nature.
And of course it most dreading to feel deserted by your friends isn't it.. ? To feel cheated and betrayed..
Well, live a sate life readers!
